The neighbourhood: Nestled in the historic village of Morpeth, "Morpeth Cottage" is in a quiet residential area, yet only minutes away from the town hub. The village sits alongside the Hunter River where the area is flat and the streets are grid pattern, so it's easy to find your way around. It's a casual Australian village that prides itself on tourism and welcomes all visitors.

The area: There's plenty to do in the village and around the region. Morpeth is only 10 minutes from Maitland, a central Hunter Valley location, 15 minutes from the M1 freeway, 35 mins from Newcastle beaches, 30 mins from the vineyards and a short drive to the Hunter's most sought after heritage wedding venues, Wallalong House, Mindaribba House, Tocal Homestead and Albion Farm Gardens. Take a leisurely drive through Paterson to explore Dungog and the Barrington Tops.

Getting around: Morpeth Cottage is only 5min walk from the town hub, so walking around the village is recommended. It's only a few streets away from the main street, Swan Street, the shopping precinct. Morpeth Cottage has hire bicycles for you to cycle around Morpeth and appreciate this delightful, heritage town. We are also licensed for private transport, so if you need to get to a venue such as a wedding or concert, we can provide this at competitive rates with drop off and pick up times guaranteed. Please inquire when you book, to confirm your transport.
